Triple Track

Triple Track

The innovative “Triple Track” is the management of learning at Thewphaingarm School based on the principles of Brain-Based Learning and taking into account differences in learning through the theory of Multiple Intelligences in order to create young people of quality with mental ability, physical ability, and intellectual ability. Triple Track is coupled with the mental strength of teachers and students under the framework of MET policy. Thewphaingarm School organises the learning process for its students into three
groups: Track 1 Track 2 and Track 3.

Students learn the core material / learning content that is necessary for them according to the basic curriculum covering 8 core subjects. Teaching is organised so that students have active participation in lessons and enjoy full interaction with teachers in the joint pursuit and creation of knowledge (Active & Interactive Learning). Also included is extra intensive tuition in each of the core subjects in order to give students from each level the necessary knowledge and ability to perform well and effectively in nationally set exams.

Guidelines for the evaluation and assessment of learning in the 8 core subjects:

1. Assess and evaluate the student's academic performance in the core subject material 2 - 4 times per term.

2. Evaluation of learning

2.1 Evaluation of learning through the use of target indicators in the testing of students according to the code and standards of each indicator. “Each student must pass all indicators so as to pass the course”

2.2 Authentic Assessment

The promotion and support of Thewphaingarm students with outstanding learning potential on Track 1:

1. Students with outstanding potential in learning Thai, English, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science will be encouraged and promoted to participate in the Academic Excellence Project

2. Students with outstanding potential in Health Education will be encouraged and supported to participate in the project Good Mind Good Health.

3. Students with outstanding potential in Art will be encouraged and supported to participate in the project One Teen One Talent.

Students receive training in Critical Thinking Skills

Students receive instruction in Critical Thinking and Creative Thinking skills that use scientific processes and investigative research to discover informative knowledge and answers. Our students take the initiative in learning by themselves (Self-Initiative Learning) and through Team Teaching, teachers provide integration of learning content with the students’ field of study (Integrative Teaching & Learning). In this way, students have an opportunity to practice critical and creative thinking skills with a teacher who is a part of a class team. The learning output will be determined by forms of research or innovation that build skills in problem solving and valuable life skills.

Guidelines for the evaluation and assessment of learning in Track 2

1. Evaluation and assessment of behavior, practice and expression of the student (the Process stage), or by research (Authentic Assessment).

2. Evaluation and assessment of presentation of knowledge gained through the student's research work (the Product stage).

The promotion and support of Thewphaingarm students with outstanding learning potential on Track 2:

        1. Students that have outstanding potential in critical and creative thinking and in problem solving through research are supported and encouraged by their teachers to participate in the “Young Researchers Project.”

        2. Students that have outstanding potential in technology are supported and encouraged by their teachers to participate in clubs as part of the “Young Researchers Project” such as “Robot Club”

Students receive encouragement and support in activities that promote the search for wisdom. Students are advised to build joy and fun into their studies in order to know themselves better, know how to think critically and to have a positive attitude in accepting the different abilities or qualities of other students in their group.

The school has both qualitative and quantitative records of each individual’s level of intelligence according to the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Such information is used as guidance for improving learning and teaching practices and to bring them to a higher academic level. As well as this, it enables students to know themselves better in order to make the right choices in higher education that are appropriate to their own true nature and ability.

The promotion and support of Thewphaingarm students with outstanding learning potential on Track 3:

1. Students that have outstanding potential in their particular field of study are supported and encouraged by their teachers to participate in the “One Teen One Talent Project.”

Multiple Intelligences Activity

Thewphaingarm School views the value of the Triple Track learning process as vital to prepare our children to be students of the 21st century, or “Tweenies” as they are known. These students will have characteristics of adhering to one’s strengths and needs, having aptitude to make one’s own correct decisions, having a positive attitude, enjoying working as part of a team, and focusing on learning through online networks and communities.
